Hi Cozy Gamers!
I just played the Playtest for Usagi Shima: Bunny Island. I absolutely adored it! This game is 10/10 recommend.
Who this is for:
If you love decorating, petting animals, mini games like side platformer runs and find the hidden objects, this game is for you!

About the Game
You are the caretaker of an island and your job is to have more bunnies visit and enjoy their time. The more you decorate, the more bunnies will come.
Some daily tasks include: petting the bunnies, brushing them, feeding them, playing hide and seek (in a find the hidden object game mechanic), and run with them (in a side platformer run style).
Console
I played the playtest via Steam on my PC. The game releases on October 29th, 2026. It will be available on PC and Mac via Steam. You can get it already on Google Play and Apple Store.
Developer
The game was created by solo dev, Jess (aka pank0). She was a software developer and then transitioned to work on the game full time.

Likes
- I loved that each bunny has their own personality including their favorite toys, wardrobe and more.
- I loved the special effects and the ambience audio.
- I loved the find the hidden object and run mini games.
- It made me look up online ‘how to adopt a bunny’.
- The art style is absolutely beautiful.
- The items to decorate with are super unique and I got a warm, cozy cute feeling inside every time a bunny used on of my items on the island to play, chill, eat etc. It gave me a sense of pride and belonging having the bunnies enjoy each addition.
Dislikes
- At the beginning, when you don’t have many bunnies, you kinda just sit there doing nothing until a bunny needs something. So please keep that in mind for the earlier hours of your gameplay. This happens because you don’t choose when the mini games happen, they are requested by the bunnies.
- Given that you can’t choose when to play the mini games, collecting money is difficult and sometimes frustrating for the overachieving, overly eager to decorate players like me. All you can do is pet them, which is amazing, but can feel repetitive if you have no money and nothing else to do. I would definitely recommend having a side activity with you while playing the game (the first hour) until you have enough bunnies to keep you busy.
- I wasn’t a big fan of the music, so I only had the ambience and special effects on. I’m so sorry to the music producer. I’m sure some other people will like it more than me.
- I wish I could hover on individual bunnies and see their names since sometimes I forget who is who. They are all super different/distinct I just have terrible memory! I could use the profile book but yea just a nice to have, I guess.
If you are hesitating to buy this game, DON’T. It’s 1000% worth it!
Thank you so much to the team for providing me with early access to this game.
