Love, Ghostie was released in August 14th, 2024 but it’s still stealing hearts from new players. It has over 500 reviews with Overwhelmingly Positive mark on Steam. The game was developed by Janbeh Games, LLC.
You are a ghost matchmaker. You take care of a residential building and its occupants. You get to know them better and start setting them up on dates to see where sparks fly! You get to witness adorable dialogue and unexpected love bloom.
Console
The game is available on Steam for Windows and Mac. It’s also available on Nintendo Switch 2. I bought the game on Steam and played it on my PC. I’m 99% close to buying it again and having it available on my Nintendo Switch 2 because I’m truly obsessed. There are so many iterations of couples that makes each gameplay feel unique.
Character Personalities & Dialogue
You have a sheet where you track all the ‘tags’ that belong to each character as you get to know them. For example, ‘sweet’, ‘playful’, ‘educational’, ‘outdoorsy’ etc. Then, you pair them up based on similarities or how you think they will get along. When they go on dates, you are in a theater room, and you watch the date unfold.
Character Gifting
You can send gifts to a character and select who it says the gift is from. Slowly, the characters start falling in love <3
My frustration with the reward for success
When you are too successful and characters decide to be together (forever, I’m sure), something happens! I can’t tell you! It’d be a major spoiler! I was so frustrated. I won’t spoil what happens after that. Let’s just say, it’s a super bittersweet event whenever each couple reaches that stage.
Difficulty Levels
You start with only 4 actions points per day. As you progress in the game, there is a whole list of achievements you can unlock that give you extra powers like more actions points, more residents, more currency for gifts, etc. The first powerup I got was more action points. It was totally worth it!
